All of this is done with extreme precision, so that the transplanted hairs ultimately have a natural growth direction. All hair root groups (grafts) are transferred, or transplanted, to the desired location on the head without stitches.

The hair follicles on the hair crown at the back of the head are immune to the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is responsible for baldness. The hair roots from the donor area (the hair ring) simply continue to grow in the place where they were transplanted. At the back of the head, the hair roots can produce hair again, but in many cases a tiny white spot (scar) will be visible.

How can the results of my hair transplant treatment continue?

Androgenetic alopecia is caused by the male DHT hormone. Under the influence of this hormone, the hair growth process accelerates and the hair follicles will eventually be shriveled and destroyed. However, grafts that come from the donor area have different characteristics and a structure that makes them not sensitive to the DHT hormone. After transplantation into the balding areas, this unique structure is retained. Successfully transplanted hair follicles will continue to produce hair for the rest of your life

How quickly can I expect results?

U heeft wel geduld ervoor nodig. Een haartransplantatie is geen behandeling met direct zichtbare resultaten. Zo’n 7 tot 10 dagen is uw huid genezen, maar de eerste dagen na de ingreep is de behandelde huid rood en licht gezwollen. Dit neemt vanzelf af, maar jeuk en korstvorming zullen nog steeds ontstaan. Pas na 3 tot 4 maanden wordt de eerste nieuwe haargroei zichtbaar, al duurt het 9 tot 12 maanden voordat het definitieve resultaat bereikt is.

How can I care for my (implanted) hair after the micro FUE hair transplant?

The general advice is to take it easy for the first few days and spare your head. This means no bumping, rubbing, exposing to the sun and/or sweating. It is also better to avoid sports, swimming and sauna visits shortly after the procedure. Depending on the work you perform, it is sometimes better to only return to work after 10 days. A hair surgeon can give you specific advice about this and by following the advice, you will enjoy a good result later.

Am I suitable for a hair transplant?

No matter how nice a permanent solution for hair loss sounds, a hair transplant is unfortunately not suitable for every form of hair loss. It is a suitable treatment for hereditary baldness, androgenetic alopecia. Temporary hair loss cannot be treated with a hair implant. Even if you are dealing with certain chronic conditions, active skin diseases, infections or autoimmune diseases, treatment may not always be advised. Your suitability will be examined and determined during an intake interview at the hair clinic.

Will I get a scar after the micro FUE hair transplant and what complications can arise?

No, you will not have any stitches or visible scars after the treatment. This is partly because we use very thin hollow needles during the treatment. Complications are rare with a hair transplant. Possible complications include:
An infection. You will receive advice to keep the risk of this as small as possible, but an infection also rarely occurs. An allergic reaction to the local anesthetic, but this almost never occurs.
A 'numb' feeling in the area where the hair has been removed. This is annoying, but can't hurt. It will go away on its own after a few weeks.
Swelling of the forehead. This can especially happen if hair has been transplanted to the front of the head. Sometimes the face also swells. The swelling will subside naturally after a few days.
Ingrown hairs, but this will go away on its own.

When will my skin start to recover from the micro FUE treatment?

The healing process of your skin starts on day 1 after treatment. However, your skin will still remain sensitive in the first month.
